=============================================================
------------------------------------------------------------
***The First Annual Texas A&M Trading Competition!***
------------------------------------------------------------
=============================================================
Overview:
The Sloan Trading Room Task Force, in conjunction with Texas A&M
University, has developed a summer trading competition for members of
the MIT and Texas communities. In this unique event, participants will
utilize the Saxo Bank trading platform to trade a variety of
instruments, including Currencies, Equities, Futures and Fixed-Income.
The competition will last for two 2-week periods, with a practice period
extending through this **Friday, June 17**, and the winner will be
declared at the end of the competition. The competition is open to ALL
current MIT students, undergraduates and graduates.
Education:
To facilitate improved trading for all participants, a forum has been
set up for each school through the Texas A&M Mays Portal (much like MIT
Sloanspace). Following each trade, students will justify their rational
in a short sentence. Students will be able to see each others'
(time-delayed) trades and justifications to promote a dynamic learning
environment. Please see the attached rules for information on registering.
Logistics:
The competition will utilize Saxo Bank's online trading platform.
Consequently, all participants will need to register for an account.
Please see the attached rules for details on how to register.
Entry Fee:
$25 -- after following the registration instructions, please send an
email to trade at jcmercier with your information from the Mays Portal and
Saxo Bank user and password information. At this point, you will be
provided a PayPal link from which to pay.
General Information:
There are currently roughly 10 students from Texas A&M signed up for
this competition. We expect the final number of MIT and Texas students
to be around 20-25. This means that the odds of winning the $1000 prize
are VERY HIGH. We encourage you to sign up for this competition ASAP, so
that you may get some practice in the trading round being held thru
Sunday night. Remember, this competition consists mainly of people who
have either never traded before or have very limited experience, so we
highly suggest that everyone try it out. Regardless of your final
standing, through the comments of fellow students in the Mays Portal and
guidance by JC Mercier, you are guaranteed to quickly get a very good
feel for trading.

information and screen captures)

Just a final reminder: the competition starts on Sunday (see below for details).
You can still get in after Sunday; however, you will have lost a few trading
days.
We highly suggest that anyone interested participate in this event. Right now,
the subscription is very low (lower than projected on the first email, and some
of the Texas students have uncommitted). For you, this means that the chances
of winning the $1000 prize are EXTREMELY high. Either way, you will gain
valuable trading experience and a solid trading-related item to put on your
resume.
Again, please feel free to contact us with questions.
