Hello my lovely Grogoites,
The week has come - we'll be teaching you how to use cameras this Saturday! Metering, depth of field, ISO, f-stop, circle of confusion, shutter priority - these are all things with which you will become very familiar. After this weekend you'll also be able to check out cameras from our awesome collection, so (as always) come for food and camera-y goodness this Saturday, 1pm in W20-451. (New people are always welcome at every meeting!)
We do have a lot of cameras, but not enough for everyone to check one out simultaneously. It would be nice for the tutorial if we had as many cameras on-hand to play with as possible, so if you have your own SLR / DSLR please bring it in! (You won't have to lend it out to other people, but you also won't need to borrow one of ours for the day.)
Also: thanks to everyone who put up with our disastrous pinhole Hasselblads (http://pinholehassleblad.tumblr.com/) last week! I had no idea how long that would take (the video only took 18 minutes… ). If anyone wants to bring theirs in to finish we still have a few un-cut boards, razors, all that jazz. Alternatively, Biyeun can show you how to make a wildly simpler pinhole camera - just ask.
That's all for now - see you all on Saturday!
Your ICRA'd-out EIC,
Nick
