[Grogospeak] IMPORTANT: Pick up your negatives and slides!

Dear Followers of Grogo,

Every year, when the book is done, there comes a time for...housekeeping. (Keep
reading - this is actually an important email.)

SUMMARY:
1. Pick up all your negatives and slides yours from the _2008_ drawer! (There is
a list of people who have things to pick up at the end of this email.)
2. Take tons of new film pictures and put the negatives/slides in the _2009_
drawer!

Basically, each yearbook covers an actual calendar year. For instance, the new
book which was just delivered TODAY, Technique 2008, covers January through
December of 2007. Our next issue, Technique 2009, will cover January through
December of this year, which is 2008.

In other words, all pictures taken starting in IAP 08 and onwards are counted
towards next year's book - Technique 2009. This transition from 2008 to 2009
was made easily in the digital half of the world - Dave merely created a new
CameraDump09 folder on the server (which you guys should all be dumping photos
in regularly by now - we're already 5 months in!). However, in the physical
world of film, it takes a bit more legwork. I've taken all the 08v film from
the drawer of hanging folders and moved it into another drawer (to the
immediate right of the current one).

Both drawers are clearly labeled. Put new film in the "2009 New Film" drawer,
and pick up anything that's yours from the "2008 To Be Picked Up" drawer. In
the 2009 drawer, each person should have a hanging folder with their initials
on it. If you don't yet have a folder, grab a blank one and label it your own;
there are dozens of blank ones in the back of the drawer. In 2008 drawer, each
person's negs are in a separate manila folder, sorted alphabetically by your
three letter TNQ initials. Take these home! Or they'll lie around for a decade
and get trashed eventually (which is always sad).

PEOPLE WHO HAVE STUFF TO PICK UP FROM THE 2008 DRAWER:
-a bunch of un-attributed film in the "CLAIM ME" folder at the front
-a bunch of stuff from the last few years (up through the 90s!!!); these are
also at the very front of the 2008 drawer.

Come grab your stuff! There's often someone in the office during the week, and
there's definitely someone there on Saturdays. (I can only personally guarantee
that these old negs will be around until Commencement-ish; then it's up to the
office manager to figure out what to keep and what to throw away.) If you're
one of those people who likes to keep all the film you've ever shot in your
current hanging folder - no problem - just come into the office and take your
film and put it back into the 2009 drawer.
