Hey Staph,
We are ordering Sicilia's stuffed pizza for lunch at 1pm! Be there,
W20-451!
At 2pm today, I'm teaching beginner/intermediate Photoshop lessons.
Tomorrow at 2pm, I'm teaching advanced lessons.
So come to the office (W20-451) for lunch at 1pm, then everyone will
head to the classroom that I'm going to break into for the presentation
at 2pm :) I'm pretty sure we're gonna use 1-131 or 1-135 for the
presentation... they're right next door to eachother, so they're easy to
find... but you'll want to come to the office at 1pm to get pizza, right?
beginner/int:
-how to use levels/curves
-sharpening
-philosophy of RGB color mode
-white balancing
-saturation
-what makes a good looking image
advanced:
-color profiles and basic color management
-hiraloam sharpening
-advanced sharpening & noise removal
-LAB
--absolute color space (i.e. no profiles)
--gamut
--8 vs 16 bit
--luminance vs chrominance
---a and b channels
-CMYK
--skeleton key
--grey component removal
--undercolor addition
--philosophy of a 4-dimensional color space
-thinking in 10 channels
-color correction by the numbers
-philosophy of a pre-pressmen
...So, as you can see, the beginner/intermediate class won't be "Look at
all the tools on the left... they're shiny!", it will be hardcore for
those that don't know how to use photoshop very well (which is what you
want right?)
The Advanced class will be hardcore by anyone's standards. The LAB and
CMYK color spaces are tricky bastards, along with color management in
general... lots of color science! Of course, anyone is welcome and
encouraged to attend though, so don't think you aren't up for a
challenge. *People that attend the Advanced class, and seem to have
learned something, will be able to help Photoshop images for the book
before we send it off in Mid-February!*
