Those seven figures often derive from walking, walking, and walking
again, working on balance, axis, posture, etc., at the expense of
figures. Then they have their 7 figures, each with 5 variations. This is
for social dancing of course. At least that is what I have observed from
the old guard.
On the other hand, these people from Buenos Aires do not go to
workshops, and many do not go to lessons. If that happened hear, tango
would die.

The figures are only a means to that end. Do North Americans concentrate so much on technique and figures, trying to be perfect, that they are unable to unleash their inner person?
