[Tango-L] Can One Learn from a Video Website?

In addition to being a tango dancer, I am also a student of dressage.

I agree that there is much to be learned from watching videos of (skilled
and unskilled) tango dancers. I also agree that watching videos are no
substitute for your own classes, practice time or dancing. But, that's not
to say that they are without value.

There are some excellent video resources for studying dressage and I wonder
if some entrepreneur could develop a similar resource for tango (i.e., a
specific website where one could view videos for study). For example, at
the website dressageclinic.com, you can watch the world's best dressage
riders and horses. There are sections of the website for European trainers,
a section for U.S. trainers and a section of clinics and workshops. Many of
the videos were created specifically for dressageclinic.com They include
examples of trainers riding their own horses, trainers riding student's
horses and trainers working with students who are riding their own horses.
They also include videos from professionals related to riding (such as
veterinarians, horse shoers, massage therapists, sports psychologist, etc.)
During the videos the teachers/trainers can make comments which are
specifically geared to teaching the video audience.

The videos are not available for purchase. Instead, they are available to
watch for a monthly subscription fee. So, it is a different business model
and resource than what is available to tango dancers today (to my
knowledge). It's a great resource and it provides a lot of information for
very little cost.

Anyway, an interesting business idea for tango, maybe?
