One man recently asked me about where to get good old tango music.
( That is what one calls Golden Age: 1920-1952). He said: "I've been to
Buenos Aires, bought there a lot of Tango CDs, but all of them are ..." and
he made a gesture of "bad buys". Typical beginner, he did not know what to
buy in-between flashy modern CD covers.

Another lady: " I liked tango music: "Gotan", Lebedinski, I was listening to
them. Then when I started dancing I figured out that that music is not
really for tango. Where to get the right tango music?

One young lady rushed to the local music store and spend there $300 right
away on tango CDs. Of course, all of them were garbage. She was very
disappointed ( She expected to get something I play :)

I do not understand, why do they sell garbage tangos in stores. May be they
want to promote modern musicians? Good service they do to us !

They sell what sells. Who would buy records dated 1936-1937 ? They rather
choose something more modern, STEREO, so to speak. And those who know? They
do not go to a local store.

The idea of supporting musicians in order to get better music from them may
sound kind, but will it work? We have 50 year behind us, music has been
played and has been selling, but has it improved?

PS. I was able to find everything on www.tower.com. But one has to know what
to look for and how. Gold is hidden, so the Golden Age Tangos ! There is no
sign on them or a Genre in a store which says "Golden" !
