Randy raises an important point.  A tall leader dancing with a much 
shorter follower cannot make all the accomodations for the difference in 
height.  The follower also has to make some accomodations, possibly 
including shifting the position of her left arm and hand downward from the 
leader's neck or right shoulder onto the front of his arm--maybe even as 
low as his elbow.  Without such adjustments, the follower's left arm may 
put unnecessary weight on the leader's right shoulder and neck.

For very tall leaders, followers of average height may not be used to 
making the adjustments in their own embrace.  This raises the difficult 
issue of verbal communication.
