This is the title of an interview in the current issue of El Tangauta tango
magazine. Vilma Vega and Fernando Galera are a young Argentine couple with
three children who have taught tango in Europe. You won't see their name
listed in any of the festivals in Buenos Aires. They are content to quietly
do their own thing.

This couple isn't willing to go commercial just to make money off tourists.
They know that tango can grow without changing its essence. They recognize
there are many who are trying to change the foundation of tango. I
especially enjoy Vilma's comment about working hard not to move her butt.
It's the latest fashion in the milongas among the younger dancers who
purposely swing their butts and move their shoulders up and down. It has
nothing to do with tango.

Tango nuevo is taking over in BsAs, in the festivals and classes. The
Escuela Argentina de Tango with a large staff of stage performers, is
offering tango nuevo in its program. The biggest surprise for me is that
long-time supporter and teacher of tango milonguero Marisa Galindo has gone
completely to the tango nuevo camp.

Vilma and Fernando believe in tango and its history. They are passionate
about the embrace.
