5 tips to help you get the most out of your visit to Buenos Aires:

- Wear a hat. It makes you look distinguished and lets people know you are
serious about tango.

- For the women, showing a little leg can help you get noticed by the men.
Better yet: showing most of your upper thigh is a guaranteed winner and will
get you noticed by everyone.

- Buenos Aires milongas have that boring, unnecessary piece of non-tango
music in-between each group of tango songs. It's not of any use to us, but
you can make it work to your advantage: Here's a chance for you to show off
all those other fancy dance moves you master in addition to tango. So the
minute you hear that non-tango stuff; get out on the floor and do your
thing!

- Sometimes the floor gets very crowded and with so many couples packed
together it is even more difficult for the dancers to get noticed. You will
find that most dance very close together and don't move much so this is the
time to pull off of all those ganchos, sacadas and volcadas you've been
dying to use. Getting noticed means standing out, so what better way to
shine?

- Argentines are a little shy. That's why they use eye contact to ask each
other to dance. This doesn't work too well, though, so if you find that a
women doesn't respond to your blinking and head-nodding, you can safely
assume that she didn't see you and you can proceed to walk up to her table,
hold out you hand and ask here verbally to dance.

Have a great trip!

Neil
