ALICIA PONS of Buenos Aires is an elegant and accomplished
milonguera with refined technique and distinctive
personality.  Her ability to imbue the role of the woman
with verve and style has made her one of the most sought
after female partners in Buenos Aires milongas.  She is
most noted for her beautiful foot play and the strongly
sensual connection with her partner, which is done with
humor and decorum.  

As a teacher, Alicia emphasizes the connection between the
partners, and in particular the woman’s ability to not just
follow, but to be an equal protagonist in the dance.  Her
knowledge of the mechanics of what makes the dance work in
the “milonguero” embrace is unique.  As a dancer, Alicia is

8:00-9:30pm  1.  REFINING THE CROSS (Exp. Beginner & Up). 
Going to this signature step in tango from a walk or in
place with greater body control.


Saturday, March 3 (Wilkins School)
----------------------------------
Noon-1:30pm  2.  ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE FOR TANGO.  Taught by
Carolyn Johnston.  Learn proper body mapping and release of
muscle tension to gain more freedom of movement in your
tango.  Focus will be on creating a stable foundation for
balance, grounding, and movement.  Limited enrollment of 12
people.  PRE-REGISTRATION required by emailing
patangos at yahoo.com or calling 412-521-1476.  Upstairs room.
 $15.

1:30-2:00pm  REGISTRATION

2:00-3:30pm  3.  TECHNIQUE CLASS - PRESENCE FOR THE WOMAN
(All levels).  Posture, balance, step quality and
adornments for elegance, seduction and style.  Men are
encouraged to attend this class, too, to expand their range
of motion. Basement room.

4:00-5:30pm  4.  FUN WITH REBOTES (Int)!  Use of the
different rhythms and energies of rebotes (rebounds or
bounce-back) steps to go from tango to milonga.  Basement
room.


Sunday, March 4 (Church of the Redeemer)

1:00-1:30pm  Registration

1:30-3:00pm  5.  THE SEDUCTIVE CONVERSATION (Int/Adv).  One
of Alicia’s signature classes.  Leading pauses for the
creativity of the woman. 

3:30-5:00pm  6.  MILONGUERO COMBINATIONS (Adv).  Using
pivoting ochos in milonguero style with boleos and sacadas
while respecting the space on the dance floor.
