[Tango-L] Primer Campeonato de Tango Salon en Buenos Aires (November 2006)

A group of milonga organizers in Buenos Aires have decided to organize a
campeonato for salon dancers over 50 years of age.  It is obvious that
dancers over 50 are the minority in the  Campeonato Metropolitano or
Campeonato Mundial, where there are no age divisions and 80% of the dancers
are under 30.  Judges select young exhibition dancers and stage
professionals to win a competition where experienced salon dancers are
overlooked.

The First Championship of Salon Tango--Premio Milonguero Viejo will be held
in November.  Registration is free.  There will be prizes.  This salon tango
competition is only for dancers and milongueros in which one partner must be
over 50 years.  No professionals are allowed.  Organized by the Asociacion
de Milongas.

And there's another competition going on this month until September 27 with
no gender requirement in roles.  La Marshall (gay/open milonga in Plaza
Bohemia) is holding the First Campeonato de baile de Tango in salon and
