Dancing with poorly aligned partners causes hip pain for me....expecially the
right hip,,,,i am a woman....the toll that poor dancers take on the body is
incalcuable....once you learn to dance pain free, you are no longer willing to
subject yourself to these painful problems just for the sake of a dance....I
have found a wonderful secret, the connection with solar plexus region, pushing
from there, driving each step backwards, forwards, sideways, with the
diaphragm region removes all stresses from the back and hips, the legs just float out
effortlessly in all directions by using these muscles. I can dance 6 hours
in Buenos Aires with excellent milongueros and be exhilarated and
painfree...whereas 2 hours of non Buenos Aires dancing leaves me knotted up and heading for
the ibuprofen bottle when I return home. I have taken up yoga again as an
antidote for hip pain...a successful therapy to counter the effects of bad dance
alignment in the US. Sherrie
