Clarification:
I was referring to tango formation periods: old guard stuff
On Syncopation:
The example you quote is a good one. Basically if you step on the weak notes
with the purpose to interpret the music that way is great. Musicians played
in this way also. The possibilities of dancing in a syncopated way are
numerous.
