In the public pavilion where the qualifying rounds of the Salon Tango
competition and also where the public milongas were held, the temporary
floor is put together from several square sections of roughly painted timber
platforms. The joints are visible and the surface quite rough compared to
the sort of timber floors you find in good ballrooms in Sydney, Australia. I
gave up trying to dance on there because this surface was too hard on the
knees. That floor was also very uneven - no wonder some dancers had issue
with their balance. In the separate pavilion where the semi finals and
finals of Tango Salon and Stage Tango were held, the floor was also pretty
rough.
