My goodness gracious no!
The BBC article says about the Campeonato Mundial, "There is ballroom
tango which has its followers in Europe, the United States and Japan,
and traditional tango for the purists."
As in most articles on tango and life in Buenos Aires in the general
media, the writers don't have a clue what they are talking about.
"Ballroom" is probably just a bad translation of Tango de Salon, but
golly I hope they aren't referring to Tango del Escenario as
"Traditional tango for the purists." That sure would shock all the
milongueros down here.
