[Tango-A] NA-E: Raúl Cabral and Agape Pappas in New York – October 22nd- October 26th

I am very pleased to announce the return of Raúl Cabral to New York City. A 
native of Buenos Aires, Maestro Raúl Cabral is a dedicated teacher, a cultural 
envoy, and an exquisite dancer of improvisational social tango, Tango 
Milonguero. The essence of his art and teaching is to develop the competence of 
each student through amplified awareness of musical rhythm and natural body 
movement. 

 
On this visit Agape Pappas  will accompany him. Agape’s style fuses a variety of 
influences with their own interpretive skills, all emphasized by the type of 
improvisation that comes from a deep connection between partners. This 
connection is reflected in a teaching style that emphasizes the importance of 
walking, balance, focus, musicality, and technique that involves leading with 
the heart in both close and open embrace. 

 
Together they will teach two workshops on Sunday October 24th and a special 
class with a guided practica on Tuesday October 26th. During their brief visit 
they will be available for a limited number of private classes. Please contact

Workshops at Ripley Grier, 520 8th Avenue
Sunday October 24th from 3 to 6 PM
 
3PM-4:30PM: Interpretation of two very different orchestras: Pugliese and 
D’Arienzo                                                          

 
4:30PM-6PM: "Giros y contragiros" 
  1 Workshop $35/2 workshops $60
 
Special class and guided practica at Pearl Studios, 500 8th Avenue, room 1211
Tuesday October 26th 
from 7:30 to 9:30 PM
 
7:30PM-9PM: Differences in dancing tango, milonga and vals. Musicality, rhythm 
and melody: how to dance in a distinct way the three.  

 
9PM-9:30PM - Guided practica: you will have a chance to practice what you learn 
under the supervision of Raul and Agape.  

Special Class + Practica $40
 
2 Workshops, Special class and Practica $90
 
In addition Raúl and Agape will teach and perform at The Tango Lounge on Friday 
October 22nd and at New York Milonga at Lafayetter Grill on Saturday October 
23rd. They will conclude their short visit with a good-bye performance at 
Triangulo on Tuesday October 26th.
