The Faculty
Miguel Zotto & Mariana Dragone
Miguel Angel Zotto began dancing tango as teenager in the milongas of Buenos
Aires. Having studied with tango legends such as Todaro, Copes, Petróleo and
Virulazo, he performed in the original production of Tango Argentino and
later formed the Tango x 2 Company, producing, directing and starring in
Perfumes de Tango, Una Noche de Tango, and other shows that enjoyed
triumphant international tours. He has many credits for performing
choreographing in films. Miguel brought Argentine tango to the world via the
stage, but his milonguero roots are clearly evident in his dancing and in
his teaching.to the world, the authenticity of Argentine tango.
Mariana Dragone began her studies of tango at age 16, studying with renowned
tango masters, Graciela González, Mingo Pugliese, Gustavo Naveira and Julio
and Corina Balmaceda. She has performed tango in the Cirque du Solei and in
the shows Tango Dreams and El Arranque. In 2006 she joined TangoX2 Company,
appearing in the show Su Historia.

Guillermina Quiroga has performed in the shows Tango, Forever Tango, Tango
Magic, and has toured the US and Europe as a principle dancer with Julio
Iglesias. She has been featured in several recent movies on Tango, including
Robert Duvall's Assassination Tango. Guillermina’s choreography

performances and Tony Award nominee, Forever Tango. She created, produced

the tango show, Los Tangos de la Cabala.
Claudio Villagra studied tango at Buenos Aires School of Art of the Teatro
Colon with teachers that included Copes, Virulazo, Antonio Todaro, Pepito
Avellaneda and Gloria and Eduardo Arquimbau. He began his professional
career in major Buenos Aires tango shows and has appeared on major stages of
the world, including Broadway and Teatro Bellas Artes in Mexico. He has has
been the featured dancer in such shows as Tango Seducción, Tanguera and
Forever Tango. He has taught in Europe, Mexico and the U.S.
Silvina Valz & Oliver Kolker
Silvina Valz teaches and performs tango throughout Europe, Japan, the U.S.
and in Buenos Aires. Silvina is one of the young great tango dancers whose
work is grounded in the classic styles of tango, but is filled with humor
and passion and incorporates elements from all styles of tango. Her milonga
performance and instruction is particularly spectacular and inspiring. Her
teaching is clear and well-structured.
Oliver Kolker grew up in Argentina, studying tango with Miguel Angel Zotto,
Osvaldo Zotto, Roberto Herrara, Graciela Gonzalez, Carlos Gavito, Carlos
Copello, Horacio Godoy, and Luis Solanas. He co-founded the Tango Emoción
dance company, and performed on tour throughout Europe with the Lisandro
Androvers quintet. He was among the top finishers in World Tango
Championship competition in both Salon and Stage categories. He has taught
internationally and is now an instructor at Stepping Out in New York.
Alberto Paz & Valorie Hart
Alberto Paz and Valorie Hart own Planet Tango, in New Orleans, LA, a company
dedicated to preserve, foster, and advance the traditional values of the
Argentine Tango culture. They have made Argentine tango dancing their life
work since 1995 when they began traveling around the USA to teach dancers
and train teachers in new and existing communities. They have developed a
teaching methodology based on the essential structure of the dance,
combining traditional and modern concepts of improvisation, successfully
utilized in workshops in cities across America and around the world since
1997. In 1999 they were instrumental in the creation of the Hudson Valley
Tango community. They are the authors of GOTTA TANGO, a superior
instructional package for learning how to dance the authentic Argentine
tango at a social level.
