Greetings Tang Hall Family:

Recently there have been several complaints of the smell of smoke in Tang, particularly marijuana smoke. This is a reminder for those who have not yet read MIT's housing policy.

There is no smoking, anywhere in Tang Hall (cigarettes or anything else).

Because of the structure of the building, it is easy for smoke to travel through vents, holes in the walls created for heating pipes, out of one partially open window and into another, and up to the second-floor windows if you are going outside but standing close to the building beneath them. The link to the No Smoking Policy is below. Thanks for respecting it and your neighbors.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks to all who have reported it. If you continue to smell smoke, we strongly encourage you to call campus police at 617-253-1212 and inform hall leaders (HOH, THRA, GRA, and/or the House Manager).

Best,

Dawn
