Dear Tang Hall residents,
On Tuesday SEPT 10TH , there will be a full hot water shutdown from 9:00am to 5:00pm. This shutdown will affect all hot water throughout the building. This shutdown is NOT expected to impact cold water – including toilets and sinks.
The Department of Facilities is installing new steam metering devices in all buildings as part of campus-wide project. This shutdown was scheduled in order to minimize impact to residents and ensure hot water would be available first thing in the morning for showers. Some residual hot water may be left in the pipes when the shutdown occurs, but will be used or cool down not long after.
Once the hot water is restored, please run the water for a few minutes to remove any air bubbles or discoloration.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience while this work is completed. If you have any questions, please email us at tanghallquestions at mit.edu<mailto:tanghallquestions at mit.edu>
