The Mohan Brothers, Lakshay Mohan & Aayush Mohan, are bringing their unique style of Jugalbandi to the US for a second time. Dubbed the harbingers of Indian Classical music by India Today, the brothers are reviving the lost art of playing the duet of Sitar & Sarod. Pioneered by Ravi Shankar and Ali Akbar Khan in early 50s, a long-standing Sitar & Sarod duet is now a rarity in the world of Indian classical music. More than reviving it, they are bringing it to a wider audience with their spontaneously improvised performances. The brothers build on a Raga (melody) and carve out an intricate and harmonious rendition that is unique to each show. Lakshay and Aayush look forward to sharing their take on this time-honored music with audiences throughout America on this, their Strings in Harmony tour.
