Dear Tang residents,

Interested in getting more involved with the Tang Hall Residents’ Association (THRA) while also securing your housing for the next year? We are looking for new members for the term May 2018 – May 2019. This time, we have the following open positions:

Vice President (1 position)
Social Chair (3 positions)
Sports Chair (1 position)
Publicity Chair (2 positions)

You can find details of the organizational structure of THRA and officer responsibilities here<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1lwRZWRugjVDTP-8SiFT4ANrrS9asky0cKpgfXXm0oCw/edit?usp=sharing>. In case we receive more applications than the number of vacancies, positions will be filled by elections by Tang Hall residents.

If you’d like to contribute in developing the Tang community, please fill out this form<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScMIZ5mqSQnCcLaqhr5eZ1GOOeeYpJjNsMcoVoGlIsU3sPPkQ/viewform> by noon on Monday, April 2nd, 2018. Only full MIT graduate students who will be in MIT till May 2019 should apply. If you are interested in a specific position that’s not open, please write to us. The campaigning and election rules will be communicated to prospective candidates after all nominations have been received.

It is mandatory for the elected board members to participate in the annual THRA Retreat, which will be held around May 26th.

Why: Several perks!

1. You get to select your own room in Tang - no hassle of entering the housing lottery.
2. You get to shape Tang's social and sports scenes - introduce new events and initiate new policies to improve the lives of graduate students.
3. You acquire important leadership skills which will prepare you for your life beyond MIT.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at tang-government at mit.edu<mailto:tang-government at mit.edu>.

Best,
THRA
