[Tang-Residents] Extreme Cold Forecast This Week - We need your help!

Dear residents,

With temperatures expected to drop well below freezing through the rest of the week, we need your help in keeping our campus warm and trouble-free with these cold weather tips.

Close windows and doors
Before you leave each day, please make sure that all windows and doors are shut securely. This will help avoid problems such as freezing and broken pipes.

Please do NOT leave windows open overnight. MIT Facilities will work with the house managers and Nightwatch to close any open windows.

If you are leaving for the winter break, please be sure to close and secure windows before you go.

Report broken windows or doors
If you notice any door or window that cannot close properly, please report the location via one of these methods:

  *   Visit the Atlas website and submit a Service Request <https://atlas.mit.edu/atlas/Main.action?tab=home&sub=group_servreq>
  *   Call our Customer Service Center at 617-253-1500
  *   Use the MIT Mobile app and select the “Building Services” icon
  *   Send a text message with the location and a photograph to txtdof at mit.edu<mailto:txtdof at mit.edu> (More info here<http://web.mit.edu/facilities/services/txtdof.html>)
