[Tang-Residents] SHUTDOWN NOTICE: Gas shutdown to Tang and Westgate on 10/5

Hello Tang residents,

On Wednesday, October 5, from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, there will be a full shutdown of the gas lines to both Tang Hall and Westgate. This shutdown will affect the dryers in the laundry rooms of both buildings and they will be unavailable for use during this time.

This shutdown is necessary so MIT Facilities and the local utility company (Eversource) can repair some piping issues discovered during excavation work for the generator project. This work cannot be completed overnight as there is a need for bright light and there will be some noise from the workers and their equipment while this work is completed. Please note that the washing machines will NOT be affected by this shutdown and may be used during this time. No other building systems will be affected.

Thank you in advance for your patience while this work is completed and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. This shutdown/work is dependent upon the weather and we will notify you if there are any scheduling changes.
