[Tang-Residents] FW: [DSL-all] PHISHING ATTEMPT!! {Email Account Upgrade///#Code-5212}

Dear Residents,

I've received several questions about the message (below) received by many today.

THIS IS A PHISHING ATTEMPT TO ACQUIRE YOUR USER NAME AND PASSWORD.

*  Under NO circumstances will ANYONE at ANYTIME at MIT ask you to update or verify your email account.

*  MIT has never threatened anyone with the termination of their account in such a manner.

*  The only message you may receive from IS&T is one with the subject line:  "Your mailbox is almost full".  In those cases IS&T only directs you to "Please reduce your mailbox size. Delete any items you don't need from your mailbox and empty your Deleted Items folder."  You are NEVER directed to a site to enter your username and password or a site that would help you clean up your mailbox.

*  Always be wary of ANY email looking for your information.
