Toys for Homeless Tots and Children and our annual Toys for MIT Parking Tickets...[cid:image005.jpg at 01CEEA99.23A3DB40]

If you happen to have received that unwanted *MIT* parking ticket - this past year - the MIT Parking and Transportation Office will once again sponsor a "Toys for Tickets' program. Yes, it really is true!

Instead of paying the fine on an outstanding MIT parking violation, the parking office will accept new, unopened toys to settle the ticket. **Just bring in the parking violation along with the cash register receipt to the parking office between December 2 and Wednesday, December 18th, 2013. This program is open to anyone who has an outstanding MIT parking ticket. The value of the toy or game must be of equal or greater value than the parking violation. The Parking Office is located in the basement of the Student Center, W20-022. http://youtu.be/Xl7ZpH4MrVo

We are also collecting new, non-violent, unwrapped toys and new warm clothing for those much less fortunate again this year. Toys and clothing can be dropped off at MIT Medical, E23-205, Community Wellness; the Marketplace at E62; or the MIT Police station at W89, 301 Vassar Street, (there is parking available for dropping off toys, and short business). All gifts will be distributed to the homeless children day care center and needy families who live in Cambridge.

Also, if you need fingerprints for security clearance the normal $20 fee will be waived if you bring in a toy, or warm clothing. Just bring in the cash register receipt along with your gift. Please schedule an appointment for fingerprints with Sgt. Cheryl Vossmer at x3-9755. This will only be offered between December 2 - 18, 2013.

Have you lost your MIT ID recently? Do you know there is a $15 replacement fee? This year the MIT Card Office will waive the replacement fee during between December 2 - 18, 2013, if you bring in a new toy and receipt of equal or greater value.

Please help us put smiles or warmth into the lives of needy families during this holiday season. May the warm feeling it leaves in your heart last a long time, too!
