[Starcluster] remote desktop issues

Hi Dean,
If I recall correctly, *nx uses ssh instead of listening on its own port
so if ssh is working then this is a little baffling.
Are you able to ssh into the master as root after launching the cluster?:
$ starcluster sshmaster
If you want to share the AMI with me I can give it a shot and have a
