[snowriders] We are planning a trip out West!

Hi gang,

At MIT Snowriders, we are considering organizing a ski/ride trip out West
this year over spring break. This email is to gauge interest in such a
trip. Depending on the interest people show and how the trip goes, we will
try to do it again next year. The The idea is to enable those interested in
this community in big mountain skiing and riding to do so at comparatively
low cost. In terms of ski areas/resorts - think Jackson Hole, Alta,
Snowbird, Vail, and such, for a 4-6 day trip. Who knows, if successful, we
might consider foreign destinations too!

This year, we are trying to put together a trip to Snowbird (near Salt Lake
City, Utah) between March 24-29, 2015. Snowbird is one of North America’s
finest ski resorts and is known for some of best powder in the world.
What’s more, the season continues late and the end of March is a good time
to be there.

Depending on the number of people, for a 5-day trip to Snowbird we estimate
the lodging and lift tickets to cost somewhere between $750-850. This rate
estimates includes airport transfers. The rate estimate assumes shared
occupancy in studios/suites/queen beds/sleeper sofas at Snowbird
properties. These properties are right by the mountain and literally
ski-in-ski-out. Some rooms have cooking facilities and almost all have
fireplace, free access to a communal hot tub, shared balcony, exercise
room, and gear lockers. For those not wanting to cook, there are plenty
dining options at Snowbird. This rate estimate does not include airfare and
meal costs. Of course, we will have a final rate estimate after we know the
number of people on the trip.

Currently, the cheapest return air ticket that works for this itinerary
from Boston to Salt Lake City is $354. Those wishing to take this
opportunity to travel to LA/SFO before or after Snowbird can find
multi-city air tickets at very cheap rates.
