Hi Gang--

Tired of waking up at 3 in the morning to go skiing or riding? Not to
worry, Loon to the rescue! We're heading to Loon Mountain in Lincoln NH,
next Saturday 3/9. It is just a little over 2 hours drive from Cambridge
and offers plenty terrain for all levels of riding and skiing. Those who
want to ski steeps should check out Rip Saw, Angel Street, and Triple
Trouble. Over all, the mountain has a vertical drop of 2,100 feet, and 61
trails (expert: 20%, intermediate: 60%, beginner: 20%).

The mountain received over two feet of snow in the last week and is 100%
open, including all tree skiing. There is some more snow forecast this
weekend. There is plenty to eat in the coming weeks so I wouldn't worry
about it much. For those building skills skiing the glades, Loon has
intermediate level tree terrain (Missing Link, and Scaler) that is easy on
the skier/rider as well as their equipment. You still need to watch out,
though.

We will leave at 6 AM sharp, and be back by 7 PM. Departure will be from
our usual location--intersection of Mass Ave and Amherst Streets. Here's
the skinny:

COSTS

Bus Only: $35

Bus+Lift: $87

Bus+Lift+Rental: 122

Bus+Lift+Rental+Lesson (ski or board): $167

Currently, there are 12 $20 subsidies available for graduate students.
First come, first served. Need we say hurry up?
