Hi all

We've got two upcoming opportunities to buy gear for the 2012-2013 season!

*1. Boston.com Ski & Snowboard Expo Nov 8th - 11th *

The annual Ski and Snowboard Expo <http://www.bewisports.com/> is a
fantastic opportunity for skiers and snowboarders alike to see the latest
gear and get deep discounts on last year's merchandise, as well as get in
touch with the greater ski and snowboard community and get up to speed with
the scene.

The MIT Snowriders have purchased five 1-day passes to this event, valid
for any single day during the expo, to give away to lucky members. We will
be giving them away on Thursday Nov 1st at our table in the student center
on a first-come first serve basis, so if you are interested in going and do
not yet have a pass, then be sure to come grab one this upcoming Thursday!

The Snowriders will "officially" be attending the Expo on the afternoon of
Friday Nov 9th, departing from the Kendal T station as a group, to the
convention center. We would love "represent" with fellow MIT Snowriders, so
please join us! More info about specific meeting time to follow.

*2. Burton exclusive shopping night Tuesday, Nov 13th*

Contingent on sufficient interest, we will have the opportunity to go to
the Burton Premium outlet store in Wrentham on the evening of Nov 13th for
an invitation-only exclusive shopping night. While the Expo can deliver
some good Burton finds, products are often used and/or sold to a second
owner without warranty. This exclusive opportunity with Burton will provide
one on one attention from Burton employees directly, a more social shopping
experience with fellow Snowriders, no cover charge, and potentially deeper
discounts, particularly for snowboarders.

However, in order to make this happen, we need to bring enough people. It
would help a great deal to have an estimate of how many people would like
to go. So, if you are *seriously* interested in going, please put your name
down in this poll spreadsheet.
more people that we can bring, the more negotiating power yours truly will
have to leverage on pricing and, perhaps more importantly, *free
transportation to the event*.

Both the expo and the Burton event have unique advantages, so it might be
worth your while to attend both, depending on what you are looking for.

Thinking snow!
El Presidente
