Its been a tough month for the Snowriders, but we still have one more trip
planned!
On 3/31, we're aiming for Sunday River. This mountain needs no
introduction. It is one of the largest ski resorts in the region. It
features 133 trails across eight interconnected mountain peaks, and is
serviced by a network of 16 lifts, and offers plenty terrain to satiate
every kind of skier or rider (summit elevation: 3,140'). Sunday River has
16 double black diamond runs, so tread with caution!
Currently, they have 78 trails open, most of which, if not all, are
ungroomed. Like the rest of the northeast, they have been experiencing
unusually high temperatures ranging in the 70s and even 80's, and therefore
have not had any snow or snowmaking recently. However, these warm
conditions do a fantastic job of softening up their primary base, making
for good spring conditions. With the most open trails in the northeast,
Sunday River is the place to go for your last rides of the season.
The skinny:
Depart: 3/31 4:30am from Mass Ave & Amherst st
Return: ~8pm
$ 35.00 (bus-only)
$ 88.00 (bus+lift)
$ 122.00 (bus+lift+rental)
$ 180.00 (bus+lift+rental+lesson)
We've also got 10x$20 subsidies for the first 10 graduate students that
sign up.
Lets end this season on a high note, with one last hurrah at Sunday River
next week!!
