Hi Snowriders,
========Sunday River Trip==========
We only need to fill 19 more seats on the bus in order to pay for the
trip this weekend. Help us reach this goal by spreading the word to your
labmates and classmates. Everyone that's part of the MIT community is
welcome to join us, including undergraduates, faculty, staff,
researchers, etc. In fact, anyone with an MIT certificate or a
snowriders account can sign themselves up, and anyone who is signed up
can sponsor a guest (who does not need to be affiliated with MIT). Let's
get butts in the last few seats so that we can move on to planning next
weeks trip to Canon Mountain!
========Multiple Pickup Locations==========
We've had several inquiries recently about having a second pick-up
location for people who live far from campus (we understand it's hard to
get to campus so early in the morning). In order to get an idea of how
many people would be interested in such a thing, we've opened a poll on
the forums at:
https://snowriders.scripts.mit.edu:444/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=53
Please let us know which location(s) most benefit you. Having extra
locations will mean that it takes longer for the bus company to pick us
up and drop us off. This means we may have to make the pick-ups earlier,
and the drop-offs later, and it may mean that the bus company will
charge more. But, if it's a great enough benefit to outweigh these
costs, then we'll do it, so head on over to the poll and let us know.
========Refunds==========
We've issued refunds for the Bretton Woods trip to the Student
Activities Finance Office. They've acknowledge receipt of the refund
requests and said they should have them all processed by the end of the
week. After that, it's a matter of your credit card company how long it
takes, but you should expect to be credited the full amount of your
charges by the middle of next week. We'll post on the forums when we
hear back from SAFO that everyone's refunds have been processed, and if
you don't get refunded a few days after that please email
sr-officers at mit.edu and we'll look into it.
========Suggestions for Improvement==========
We've had several people emailing us with suggestions for improvements
to our bus trips. We welcome the suggestions and love to discuss options
for improving the club. The best place to make such suggestions,
however, is not via email, but on the forums:
https://snowriders.scripts.mit.edu/forums/ Email is more difficult for
us because 1) snowriders emails may get buried in the onlaught of daily
departmental/institute spam 2) even if we read your emails, we might not
be able to respond right away, and we don't want to forget your valuable
ideas 3) the forums are more organized so information is stored in a
logical format for us to work with 4) discussions are more natural
because the natural reading order is preserved.
Please take advantage of the forums for general discussions and
non-personal questions. It's the best place for these kinds of
things :). We'll still answer emails of course, but posting on the
forums will lead to quicker action.
