It's that time of year. The clocks have changed, the sun is setting
earlier and earlier, and the leaves are falling (or fallen). Don't deny
it... You've probably already dug your snow gear out of the
basement/attic/storage (I know I have) and are dying to use it. Once
again snowriders is working hard to make it as easy as possible for all
our members to go skiing (and riding) this winter... and if you're as
passionate as us, to go A LOT!

In this email:
1) Season Passes
2) Ski House
3) GSC Ski Trip Dates
4) Bus Trips, Tuning Sessions, Discount Nights, and Socials

--------------------------------

1) Season Passes

Snowriders is again selling the New England Pass to MIT students at a
discount. Season passes are on sale NOW! The New England Pass gets you
in to Sunday River, Sugar Loaf, and Loon Mountain, with no blackout
dates. This year, you can get the pass one of two ways:

1. Using a credit card on the snowriders website at:
http://snowriders.mit.edu/passes.php
2. Paying cash and buying one directly from an officer by emailing
sr-seasonpasses at mit.edu

If you use a credit card the pass is $324, and if you pay cash its $316
(compared to buying it at the mountain for $329). One-day lift tickets
at Sunday River are $74-$77, at Sugar Loaf are $72-$75, and at Loon are
$73. That means you save money if you take more than four trips over the
entire season. Snowriders will be running at least 5 trips to these
mountains, so we've already got you covered. (You can use your season
pass on the trip, and then you'll only have to pay for the bus!) Passes
will be available on the website soon, but you can already contact
sr-seasonpasses at mit.edu to buy one. More details will be listed on the
site in a few days, and the bus schedule will be posted as soon as we've
we've got the details covered.

2) Ski House

To take full advantage of your season pass, we have a Ski House in the
Sunday River area. The season is from Nov 13th (but yes, Sunday River is
already open for weekends!) and goes until the mountain closes, whenever
that is (there are a couple blackouts). It is just 1.9 miles from the
South Ridge Base lodge. The house features three bedrooms (sleeps
10-12), two bathrooms, large living room, family room, kitchen, dining
room, and a basement to store lots of gear. The house has a gas
fireplace inside and a wood fire pit outside, to enjoy the beautiful and
snowy Maine winters.

There are three types of memberships, depending on how often you think
you'll be at the house:

- "Super" $1200 - stay any nights and have up to 18 guest nights
- "Full" $600 - stay up to 24 weekend nights, including max 12 guest nights
- "Half" $350 STUDENTS ONLY - stay up to 12 weekend nights, including
max 6 guest nights

To join please send your membership fee to:
 Alvar Saenz-Otero, MIT Room 37-381
e-mail <sr-skihouse at mit.edu> so that he can be on the lookout

3) GSC Ski Trip Jan 21-24

Grad Students, save the date! We are working hard to finalize the
details of our annual take-over of Sunday River. If you went on the trip
last year, you know how much fun it is. If you didn't go on the trip,
then don't miss out on your chance to go this year. More details to come
but put it in your calendar now!

4) Bus Trips, Tuning Sessions, Discount Nights, and Socials

The details of these are still in the works, but rest assured, there
will be many. Keep an eye on the website at http://snowriders.mit.edu
for all the important info.

Thats all folks! (for now)
