Season Pass FAQs
- Is it worth getting a pass?
Yes, if:
a) You are planning on riding 5 or more days during the season with your own
transportation. (Standard rate lift tickets on Sunday River cost $65)
b) You are planning on riding with Snowriders to at least 8 of our trips to
Sunday River/Sugarloaf/Loon, including the GSC ski trip. (Discount rate lift
tickets to Sunday River cost $37). For an updated trip schedule, visit
http://snowriders.mit.edu/bus/.
- What are the requirements to buy a season pass from Snowriders?
You (undergrad, grad, post doc) MUST be a fully registered student for classes
either at MIT or at any other college. Note that although we will not require
you to prove your enrollment while purchasing the pass, you will need to
provide the resort with a letter from the registrar stating your registration
status. They will not accept student IDs as a proof of enrollment. There will
be no refunds due to enrollment status issues.
- On the past years I bought a pass including more than three resorts, why
aren't you selling it this year? Can I buy it somewhere else?
Unfortunately, the All East pass does not exist anymore. Each individual resort
is selling its own pass now. Snowriders has decided to sell the Maine Pass this
year, as it includes two (or, optionally, three) resorts, Sunday River and
Sugarloaf for $299 (and Loon Mountain for additional $30). You can find more
information on the other season passes offered in New England by going to the
individual websites of the other resorts.
- If I get the pass, do I still have to pay for the bus if I travel with
Snowriders?
Yes, the bus rate is separate from the season pass or lift ticket cost.
- If I get the pass, can I go to all of Snowriders trips without paying lift
ticket?
No, the season pass only includes the resorts of Sunday River, Sugarloaf (and
optionally Mount Loon, for additional $30). That means that if you take the
ride to any other resort, you will need to buy a daily lift ticket.
- Do I have to be a professional rider to get the pass?
Certainly not, anyone can buy a pass. (It's a good way of becoming a pro in one
season!)
- Can me and my buddy buy only one pass and use it on different days?
No, the passes are non-transferable (the pass has your picture, and resort staff
does check it often).
- I will not be in town next week, is this my last chance to get the pass?
You may also buy your pass online at the snowriders website
(http://snowriders.mit.edu/passes.php). If you do not wish to --or cannot-- do
so, feel free to contact us to buy your pass when you come back to MIT.
