Hello Snowriders....

We've had a rough time the past couple weeks in Snowriders headquarters, and we'd like to thank everyone for sticking with us through the bus cancellations and bad weather. You guys have been wonderful despite all the headaches. Thanks!

The contents of this email:

1. We're just students
2. Bus limits
3. Refunds for 2/5, 2/12
4. New and improved inclement weather policy
5. New and improved refunds
6. Spring Fling Weekend

*************************
We're just students...
*************************

We want to remind you all that Snowriders is a very large student-run organization and our primary audience is MIT students. We have about 1200 people on this mailing list!!! And we had 220 people signed up for our most recent bus trip attempt!! We are HUGE (at least electronically). We are trying our best to run this organization, but as you can imagine, its a challenge when we have the same deadlines as most of you. Please try to remember this before you get too mad at us.

*************************
Bus limits
*************************

Because we are just average MIT students, and we have a very limited pool of trained volunteers to help us run trips, we have been forced to limit the number of buses that we send up to the mountains each week to TWO despite demand for more. Also, in the future, we may limit our bus trips to currently enrolled students only (+guest).

*************************
Refunds for 2/5, 2/12
*************************

IF YOU NEED A REFUND FOR THE FEB 5 OR FEB 12 TRIPS you must come to our office hours **TODAY** to submit a refund request. Without this request, we have no way of giving you your money back. Really. We're not trying to make life difficult for you. This is MIT policy, and we have no control over it. If this is a hardship for you, please let us know by MONDAY FEB 20.

***************************************
New & Improved Inclement Weather Policy
***************************************

Our bus trip inclement weather policy has been updated in association with staff members of the Student Activities Office. The document can be found at:
http://snow.mit.edu/Inclement%20Weather%20Policy.pdf

**************************
New & Improved Refunds
**************************

Our credit card system has been modified by MIT Ecomerce which will allow us to better handle refunds in the event of a cancellation, starting with the Feb 26 trip to Sunday River. So, next time there is a cancellation: no more office hours and forms and signatures and all that other annoying stuff that is getting in the way of you and your money. (And less work for the officers and the Student Activities Office as well!)

**************************
Spring Fling Weekend
**************************

Sunday River has a great deal for the weekend of March 31 (this is not an official Snowriders trip). Weekend Lodging Package: $50.00 per person for two nights lodging. Weekend Ski & Stay Package: $99.00 per person for two nights lodging and two day lift ticket. Details: http://snow.mit.edu/sr_spring_fling_2006.pdf.

Thanks,
Nici Ames
Snowriders President
