Hello Snowriders,
As predicted by Punxsutawney Phil, cold weather has returned and it looks like there is finally some snow in the forecast instead of rain. Apparently this has worried some not-so-hard-core Snowriders who have wondered if we may cancel a bus trip because of too much snow! Well... since fresh natural snow is generally good for skiing/boarding, the short answer is: no. But...
=============================================================================
If driving conditions are severely affected, then the Snowriders Officers may make a decision to cancel a bus trip due to safety reasons.
=============================================================================
What about if its raining at the resort?
----------------------------------------
The trip is on as long as there is snow to ski on. I'm from Seattle and have spent many days skiing slush in the rain, so you'll get no sympathy from me. If you're concerned about rain, either check the forecast before buying a ticket from us, or go buy yourself a nice GoreTex shell.
What about if its 10 below zero with 20 mph winds?
--------------------------------------------------
As long as the resort is open, we're skiing. This is New England, get used to it. Make sure you have good layers and you cover all exposed skin. If you complain enough at the resort, you may get a lift ticket voucher good for another day from them, but you definitely won't get a refund from us.
How do you know if a trip is cancelled?
---------------------------------------
If a trip is cancelled for any reason, a notice will be sent to all passengers and also will be posted on our website, hopefully before 10pm on the night before the trip. There is no need to email us and tell us about your fear of winter driving, or your inability to navigate a two foot deep fresh powder field, in order to try to sway us to cancel the trip. Likewise, telling us that we are not hard-core enough to take a large bus through 4 foot snow drifts in Central Square won't convince us to continue with the trip.
How are refunds handled?
------------------------
During the next business day after a cancellation, a form will be sent to all passengers who paid Snowriders for the trip using a credit card. Refunds will be issued to the original credit card holder only. If you bought a spot from someone else with cash instead of directly from us, then you'll have to get your money back from him.
I hope that answers all your questions!
