[Snowriders] Prepare your skis or board for summer! tuning chair election!

Prepare your equipment for summer storage. Keep your edges from rusting
and/or bases from drying out over the summer months.

There will be 4 sessions in a row on each day, each lasting 30 minutes so
please come on time. The process should take only 20 minutes for the
average worker. Cost $2. Please sign up on the rider board! Four sessions
are posted for each day.

Summer prep sessions will occur on the following days
wed Apr 12 7pm-9pm,
wed Apr 19 7pm-9pm,
mon Apr 24 7pm-9pm
wed May 3 (if enough interest)

At the summer preparation tuning session, you will apply a thick layer of
hot wax, iron it in, let it dry and don’t scrape. It will prevent the bases
from drying out and won’t allow rust to form on the edges. Do not expect to
do much edge work or base repair during these short sessions.

At the beginning of the next season, you will need to scrape off the storage
wax and a new layer of wax can be put on if desired.

SNOWRIDERS ELECTIONS: Tuning Chair

Also, on Apr 6 a new Tuning Chair will be elected at the Snowriders officer
elections. I encourage anyone to run for this chair.

Tasks of this position include:

-Organize tuning session schedules
-Recruite and train a collection of tuning leaders to oversee sessions
-Oversee tuning sessions periodically
-Organize and improve tuning session processes
-Manage the equipment: Monitor equipment for damage, order more equipement
when necessary, order more consumables when necessary, maintain cash flow
equillibrium.

If I had to give an analogy or a friendly description of the position, it is
like being the manager of a department of a very large organization. You
will need to monitor purchases and revenue for the deparment. You will need
to recruit and communicate with other sub-managers who will then work with
the customers. You need to know a good deal about the mechanics of the
service you are providing. It is somewhat independent of the rest of the
large organization.
