Dear Sci-Intern subscribers ,
This unique SUMMER Opportunity just came into our office !!
This opportunity is open to Juniors and it has been structured to
accommodate students who might already have a summer job.
ALL EXPENSES will be covered for selected participants. Refer any
questions to Stacey.Duplessis at shell.com
The Shell Gourami Challenge is a week-long course that provides ambitious
and curious students alike a first-hand look into the dynamics and
complexities of the energy business in all its aspects -- from the upstream
operations of Exploration and Production; to the downstream operations of
Refining and Marketing, and the critical services operations of Finance and
Human Resources that underpin it all. Open to 45 students who are either
technical (BS in Engineering - Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, Geological;
MS Geology and Geophysics) or business (BS in Accounting, Finance, HR,
Marketing) majors, the Shell 2004 Gourami Challenge exposes participants to
the realities of timely issues facing Shell, such as sustainable
development, social responsibility, risk management, and competitive
rivalries. Please note that specific criteria (year of study, degree level,
GPA) have been established for eligibility.
Gourami is an innovative way for talented students in technical and
commercial fields to gain insight into our company and our culture,
experience the unique challenges of working in the energy industry, and
enjoy a week of camaraderie and networking with peers across the nation and
Shell staff. This year, the US program will be held on August 8th - 13th
at the Shell Learning Center, a resort and conference facility nestled in
the Woodlands, Texas. All expenses for the week will be covered for
selected participants. I would also like to point out that due to the
timing of the program in August, students who may have already accepted a
summer internship with another company may still have an opportunity to
join the Shell Gourami Challenge as well before returning to school.
From Shell's perspective, Gourami is also an important way to begin
identifying some of your best talent early on! Applications are being
accepted now, so we encourage you to forward this information along to your
interested students. We are especially searching for strong technical
students to participate in this years program. More detailed information
can be found on our website http://www.shell.com/careers under the
Students section. If you are ready to apply, you will need to complete the
first important step in the recruitment process by registering with Shell
via our on-line recruiting system.
