[Sci-tech-public] Save the date for a "History of Technology" symposium at MIT on June 7-8

Dear all,

On June 7th and 8th, MIT's STS Program will host an exploratory symposium on "The History of Technology: Past, Present, and Future." Over twenty scholars (see list below) will make brief presentations about their view of the field and what they consider needs and opportunities for its future development. Ranging from distinguished senior scholars to recently minted Ph.D.s, the participants promise to bring fresh perspectives to the history of technology as an academic discipline. The time is ripe to take stock of the field, assess where it currently stands, and ask what next steps might be taken to advance it further.
