“What a Seed Becomes: Political Ecology, Expertise, and Agro-Biodiversity in Turkey”

Caterina Scaramelli is an anthropologist of the environment and science, working at the intersection of anthropology, environmental history, and STS. She studied at the London School of Economics, where she obtained a BA in Social Anthropology. She holds a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is currently a research professor in the Departments of Anthropology and Earth & Environment at Boston University, and has been a fellow in the Agrarian Studies Program at Yale University, and taught anthropology at Amherst College. Her recent book How to Make a Wetland: Water and Moral Ecology in Turkey came out with Stanford University Press last year.
