The MIT STS Program is proud to present it’s final talk for the Spring 2016 Colloquium Speaker Series, featuring MIT’s Prof. Sherry Turkle.  Please join us on Monday, April 25, at 4pm, in E51-095 for "A Conversation on Conversation”.  
 
Quick on the heels of "Alone Together," her acclaimed 2011 book on the isolating effects of new communications technologies, longtime STS faculty member Sherry Turkle has produced "Reclaiming Conversation," that shapes new material from home, school, and workplace interviews into an argument for the redeeming power of both true aloneness (without the crutch of technology) and face-to-face conversation. In a departure from the traditional STS colloquium format, Turkle will sit with technology journalist Wade Roush (PhD 1994) for a "fireside chat" about the threads that led to her recent line of research, and her hopes for a future with an expanded place for our most basic technology—talk.
