*WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES*

Research ethics tends to fall between the stools of disciplinary
investigation. It is often dealt with along the way by various strands of
social analysis, e.g., history and sociology of medicine, intellectual
property law, comparative policy studies, and even cognitive psychology.
Rarely is it studied in its own right, as a topic of significant moral,
social, and economic concern. Moreover, these strands of scholarship have
been working very much in parallel, from different perspectives, with
different methods, and on different framings of the overall picture.

This workshop invites you to an exploratory discussion about the value of
some of these disciplinary or field-specific perspectives, in order to
assess synergies, possibly meaningful differences, and potential avenues for
future research.
