Junior Research Fellowships, Imperial College London
Historians of science, technology and medicine are invited to compete for
three-year Junior Research Fellowships offered by Imperial College London.
This is a college-wide competition, in which 20 fellowships will be awarded
to top early-career researchers across a range of disciplines. They offer
three years free from teaching and administration, plus a competitive salary
and research expenses.
Applicants must have an upper second or first class undergraduate degree
with a PhD or equivalent. They should normally have between 2 and 4 years
postdoctoral experience. Applications must be backed by a College sponsor
who will act as mentor and help fellows to develop their research.
Post-doctoral scholars interested in applying for this competition should
send c.v., research proposal, names of three referees, and a sample
publication electronically by 10 November 2008 to:
Lesley Harris, Administrator
Centre for the History of Science, Technology and Medicine
Imperial College London
<mailto:lesley.harris at imperial.ac.uk> lesley.harris at imperial.ac.uk
A selection committee of the Centre will then judge whether the application
would sufficiently fit into on-going research at the Centre and whether it
would be likely to succeed in the College-wide competition, which will be
highly competitive and for which the closing date is November 30.
Applicants must also contact one of the four potential sponsors in HSTM:
Prof. David Edgerton ( <mailto:d.edgerton at imperial.ac.uk>
d.edgerton at imperial.ac.uk)
Dr. Andrew Mendelsohn ( <mailto:a.mendelsohn at imperial.ac.uk>
a.mendelsohn at imperial.ac.uk)
Prof. Andrew Warwick ( <mailto:a.warwick at imperial.ac.uk>
a.warwick at imperial.ac.uk)
Dr. Abigail Woods ( <mailto:a.woods at imperial.ac.uk> a.woods at imperial.ac.uk)
