Hi, all,

Some of you might have noticed that PBS has launched yet another
science-related series on TV this season; this newest offering is
co-sponsored by Wired Magazine, and (as befits such partnership) is
even more glitzy and slick than NOVA has been, for better or worse.
The sixth episode of "PBS Wired Science" will air this Wednesday
evening, 7 November, on PBS at 8pm. It features brief segments on
several topics of potential interest to us STS types: "biobanking,"
"audiophiles," "peak water," and the "X-prize," the last of which is
scheduled to include yours truly as one of many talking heads. (I
haven't seen any rough edits of this one, so I don't know much about
it.) If you find yourself sitting around Wednesday night with not
much to do, tune in; and if you miss it, you can find the episode
on-line after it airs at:

(Scroll down to episode 6.)

Hope you're all doing well --
best,
Dave
