The Life Sciences/Environmental Sciences Working Group will meet this Friday,
Oct. 20, 12-2 pm, rm 252 in the Science Center.
Please join us this coming Friday for practice talks of three papers that will
be read at this year's HSS meeting. They are:
John Matthew: "The Fashioning of a Faunistic Natural History for British India."
Juan Andres Leon: "Articulating Locality in the Worldwide Snake Venom
Specificity Debates, 1890-1912".
Kuang-chi Hung: When the Green Archipelago Encountered Formosa:
Colonial Governance, Capitalism and the Emergence of Modern Forestry in
Colonial Taiwan (1895-1930s).
Lunch will be served. Please RSVP to Ellen Guarente,
guarente at fas.harvard.edu if you plan to attend.
Also, save the date! Future meetings will be held Fridays, 12-2 pm in rm 252,
Science Center, on Nov. 17 and Dec. 1 and 15, speakers and
topics TBA.
