Please join us on Monday, November 6th, for the STS Colloquium:
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF STS IN PUBLIC POLICY?
TED POSTOL
Professor Postol provided the following abstract:
The work of the Science, Technology, and Global Security Working
Group (STGS) is focused on global security problems associated with
modern military applications of science and technology. These
security problems range from those as basic as the proliferation of
nuclear weapons to the uses of science and technology in general
applications of modern military power. This talk will discuss a wide
range of what at first sight might appear as narrow technical
studies, but in fact address profound cultural, social, political,
and economic issues that are connected to the core values of our society.
The talk will be held at 4:00 pm in E51-095.
-------------------------------------------
I would also like to call your attention to a workshop on
Animal-Human Boundaries: Disciplinary and Spatial Perspectives,
being held next Thursday afternoon, November 9th, at the Kennedy
School of Government. See the attached program for more information.
-------------------------------------------
Complete details about these and other upcoming events are listed on
the attached Schedule of Events for the period November 6-10, 2006.
