[Sci-tech-public] STS Brown Bag Lunch Talk: Monday, November 21st @ noon

Anna Storm, a Ph.D. student in the Department of History of Science and
Technology at KTH in Sweden, will present a brown bag lunch talk entitled,
"Koppardalen: The place of history in the contemporary transformation of
an industrial area," based on her licentiate thesis that was defended this
spring.

The transformation and adaptive re-use of former industrial areas has been
a main feature in many big and middle-sized cities in Sweden and other
western countries during the last decades. Anna's research deals with what
relations could be discerned in the transformation process with regard to
the past. Is the past something bad that you try to forget or something
positive you are proud of and that can be an asset in the new use of the
industrial area?
