In an attempt to cut down on spam messages, the sci-tech-public e-mail list
was changed yesterday to a list that will be moderated by the STS main office.
All messages sent to sci-tech-public will first be reviewed by us. We will
delete
spam before forwarding relevant e-mails to the sci-tech-public list. If you
send
an e-mail to sci-tech-public, you will receive an immediate response that says
"sci-tech-public bounces" which alerts the sender that their message is being
reviewed before being sent to the list. We've been told that one of the
drawbacks
of these moderated lists is that people who are on multiple lists will receive
duplicate messages. Unfortunately, there is currently no way to avoid this.
However, we hope that having fewer spam messages in your in-box will make
up for the slight inconvenience of receiving duplicate messages.

Thank you.
