Fiori My Inbox Workflow - Responsive table issue

Hi Ik
One common My Inbox app for all workflows is the default. You can create a filter & then save as tile if people actually want multiple tiles.

I'm assuming you're on Business Suite & not S/4Hana? There's an annotations approach that's easier on S/4.

In Bus Suite...Yes you can use the one central OData service & add extra sub entities. In the main entityset you may want to keep the master list consistent for all task types.

When you select a task the odata call to get the task service then triggers the standard entity set for task detail. You want to extend that to then call & fill your task specific entity type based on the selected task id & workitem id.

If you have more questions please post them on SCN & remember to mine the Fiori My Inbox wiki

Thanks for the advice jocelyn, we have multiple workflows using my inbox app and we have created a separate tile for each workflow and most of these workflows need a list of items to be populated in a table format in task detail view, in this case do i need to create separate odata service(enhanced) and a separate fiori app(enhanced) for each workflow or can i use one odata service and create a new entity type for each workflow inside this service. Also is it possible to have a one common fiori app for all workflows? please advice.

Hi Ibrahim
Enhance the OData service
Custom attributes are primarily aimed at adding flat fields to the master list for filters & sorts.

Your use case relates to enhancing the task detail. For which you need to use the extensibility approach

Hi Jocelyn,
Thanks for the advice. So if we need to provide some additional business data in a table format, do we need to enhance the odata service or can we achieve this through the badi /IWWRK/BADI_TGW_CUSTOM_ATTR? I think we can add only flat structure data inside this BADI is it possible to have a table of items populated inside this BADI, please advice.

Hi Ik
Using the BADI is not the way to do that. You need to use the Extensibility options for My Inbox to get a better result.

That's what we did as explained here:
https://blogs.sap.com/2016/02/17/real-life-experiences-extending-fiori-my-inbox/

Yes you need some UI5 skills ... but you will get a *far* better end result

Subject: Fiori My Inbox Workflow - Responsive table issue

Dear WF experts,

We are currently using Fiori My inbox for Custom Workflow Approvals. We are using the BADI -
/IWPGW/BADI_TGW_TASK_DATA to populate the work item description in a tabular format. We are using html tags inside this BADI to make a html table and its working fine in desktops, but we are not able to make this table responsive, we tried using some SAPUI5 specific html tags inside this BADI but still we are not able to make a responsive table.

Because of this the values in the table format are not showing properly in a mobile device. Is there any way to make this table responsive without extending the Fiori App?
