Change status in SWN_NOTIF

Hi WUGers,

We have a little problem ... ok a few thousand entries ... in SWN_NOTIF with entries that are at status 'D' or 'S' and we would like them to be at 'L'. They were created in error under the wrong category. The category has since been updated so that those tasks are no longer included in the category. The corresponding work items have since been either completed or logically deleted, but I think the normal background job that would set the status to 'L' will not see them.  So we want to force the status change to 'L'. Once they are at 'L', RSWNNOTIFDEL can take care of them.

Is there any standard program or routine that we can run to update the status to 'L'  for selected entries?  Alternatively, what would you propose? Is this one of the rare cases where it's safe (or at least not too horrible) to write a program that will directly update the table to change the status?
